Umbrella Organizations

  • The Legion of Black Collegians (LBC)

    The only Black Student Government in the country. They are the leading voice on campus working to eradicate ignorance and promote positive change through education, motivation, and advocacy for Black students at Mizzou.

    They are the umbrella organization for all academic orgs and Greek life.

  • Asian American Association (AAA)

    Strives to unite students of all backgrounds and offer campus awareness and understanding of Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) culture, history, and current issues.

    Their purpose is to build a safe community, to educate, to serve, and to work towards providing a better experience for future generations.

  • Association of Latine American Students (ALAS)

    Promotes cultural competency, raises awareness about Latine issues happening globally and on campus.

Academic Edition

  • Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi)

    Seeks to promote and advance the profession of African psychology by influencing and effecting social change.

  • Black Book Mizzou

    Provides an educational platform for African American entrepreneurs and be a directory for those who wish to support Black businesses on MU’s campus. Black Book aims to teach the fundamentals of owning a business while maintaining academic success.

  • Black Law Students Association (BLSA)

    Their primary purpose is to deal with the special concerns of Black law students and lawyers, acquaints students with the professional opportunities, problems, and responsibilities they will have as practicing members of the Bar.

  • Mizzou's Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (Mizzou M.A.P.S.)

    Offers support and exposure to minority students interested in healthcare careers. This organization offers engaging meetings with healthcare providers and professional school students. In addition, their members get an inside look into the educational and career experiences of those in positions they are aiming for.

  • National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

    Seeks to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionaly, and positively impact the community

  • National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ)

    Their mission is to serve as an advocate for African American journalists locally and nationally. One of their chapter’s major efforts is to create support and networking systems for the Black journalism students here at the university.

  • National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE)

    A non-profit organization that is devoted to furthering the academic success of Black and Brown students. They also exist to create space for Black students at Mizzou majoring in or intending to major in Education, and the faculty and staff that support them.

  • Black Pre-Law Students Association (BPLSA)

    Expand members knowledge about the legal profession and law school as well as assisting members in expanding their network and gaining access more resources.

  • National Association of Black School Educators

    The National Alliance of Black School Educators is a non-profit organization that is devoted to furthering the academic success of Black and Brown students. They also exist to create space for Black students at Mizzou majoring in or intending to major in Education, and the faculty and staff that support them.

  • Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)

    The Mizzou SACNAS Chapter, founded in March 2011, is dedicated to fostering the success of Hispanic/Chicano and Native American scientists from college students to professionals to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in science.

  • National Association of Hispanic Journalists

    The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) is dedicated to the recognition and professional advancement of Hispanics in the news industry.

  • Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers

    The Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers is dedicated to uniting the community of Asian scientists and engineers in order to provide the support needed for success in the professional, academic, and social world.

Fraternities

  • Alpha Phi Alpha (Alphas)

    Develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for their communities.

  • Kappa Alpha Psi (Nupes)

    Founded on October 5, 1960 and chartered in March 18, 1961, the Delta Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was established as the first African American organization at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the first NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) organization on campus.

  • Omega Psi Phi (Ques)

    Represents a group of diverse people who strive for the highest level of excellence just as their founders intended, honoring Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. With shared goals and interests in areas of service, academics, and building friendships to last a life time.

  • Phi Beta Sigma (Sigmas)

    Created to uplift and upkeep the Black life at MU. Committed to the fraternities motto: Culture for service, service for humanity, a legacy was birthed that would become the People’s Fraternity.

  • Lambda Theta Phi

    The mission of Lambda Theta Phi is to empower the Latin male through scholarship, Brotherhood, opportunity and protection of identity and equality.

Sororities

  • Alpha Kappa Alphas (AKAs)

    Their mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of service to all mankind.

  • Delta Sigma Theta (Deltas)

    Strives to enrich the lives of students on the University of Missouri's campus and those in the surrounding Columbia community. Every educational program, event, and project is devoted to our 22 courageous founders who we seek to ​embody through scholarship, sisterhood, and service.

  • Zeta Phi Beta (Zetas)

    Seeks to address the societal mores, ills, prejudices and poverty affecting humanity that other organizations failed to acknowledge. An organization that is aimed towards the people and community by raising awareness, encouraging the highest standards for scholastic achievement and a greater meaning of unity among members.

  • Sigma Gamma Rho (Poodles)

    To enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. The goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development.

  • Alpha Phi Gamma

    The purpose of this organization is to bring together all women of different nationalities through the bonds of friendship and Sisterhood. Alpha Phi Gamma exists to provide service and Asian Awareness to the University and the surrounding communities for the betterment of society. For its members, this organization promotes scholarship and academic excellence, personal development and leadership.

  • Sigma Lambda Gamma

    Through excellence in the organization's five founding principles, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. provides opportunities for lifelong empowerment to its members, thereby positively influencing the global community.

Fun Edition

  • Zou Shake

    A team where students can practice to perform stomp and shake cheer and dance. "Stomp and shake", which can also be known as (SNS) cheerleading, is a relatively new style of cheer that involves creative choreography. This choreography primarily includes stomps, shakes, loud voices, claps, and a small amount of majorette dance.

  • Mizzou Black Creatives

    Offers a safe space for Black artists of all mediums, including music, art, poetry, baking and fashion. MBC events range from bake sales to fashion shows to poetry slams, all to support and promote the various talents of Black MU students.

  • Free Your Expression (F.Y.E.)

    The Free Your Expression Dance Team is dance team that utilizes multiple genres of dance to create performances that are original, energetic, and most of all, memorable!

  • Model 3.0

    Created to allow aspiring models, designers, photographers, etc. to work cohesively while building up individuals’ skills, knowledge, and confidence. Through the use of workshops, shows, resources and photoshoots, Model 3.0 is a place to help one conquer their dreams and establish a sense of self identity.

  • ZouSoul

    Creating and cultivating a safe place for students to express and absorb the various arts.

Connection Edition

  • Black Collegiate Network

    To enrich the collegiate journey of Black students by providing them a sense of belonging and resources to aid them in both academic and personal success.

  • National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)

    Their mission is to attain equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that promote human and civil rights, eradicate discrimination, and enhance the well-being, education, and economic security of Black people and all persons of color. Additionally, they will foster a safe environment for Mizzou students while steadfastly advocating for social, economic, and racial justice here at the University of Missouri.

  • Association of Latino Professionals For America

    Their goal is to actively promote the inclusiveness of Latino students, fostering an environment where our members can form meaningful connections and gain enriching experiences. Simultaneously, we are dedicated to nurturing the growth of future leaders, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for career readiness. Our commitment extends to advocating for the celebration of our differences and the recognition of the richness that diversity brings to our community. While our focus is on business-related majors and careers we accept students from all majors.

  • South Asian Students Association

    The overall purpose of SASA is to promote and share South Asian culture and awareness with the Mizzou community. We want members of the South Asian community to find a home with us and we want the rest of the community to learn about the diverse cultures of South Asia.
