The Mixed at Mizzou multicultural potluck is a time of celebration and bonding through culture. As our last event of the year, the potluck provides an opportunity for the Mixed community and allies to reflect on the experiences and growth which occurred during the semester, both personally and as a community. The main event of the potluck is the food and subsequent cooking competition. Anyone who enters can form a team with at least one other person to cook a dish for the potluck, with each team being given a stipend to pay for groceries. All the dishes must be some sort of fusion dish or pairing of foods from each team member’s culture. At the potluck, chefs will explain the fusion dish they have created, and the reasons why the foods they decided on are significant or a fond memory of the food from their upbringing. Special guests will be in attendance and deciding which dish stuck out to them the most. We will be collaborating with Missouri International Student Council for this event!
