Fashion Revolution Day is the annual commemoration of the 2013 collapse of Rana Plaza, a garment factory in Bangladesh. The management at this factory knowingly put workers in unsafe conditions. When the factory collapsed, thousands of workers were killed. As a result of this terrible event, we now try to be as conscious as possible about knowing where our clothes are made and under what conditions. During ATAM’s Fashion Revolution Fair, we are promoting sustainability in fashion with the resale of gently used clothing rather than selling new clothing. The proceeds from the fair’s sales will go to our club, ATAM, as well as Fashion Revolution.
